While many in Charlotte have been to or at least heard of the NoDa Gallery Crawl, many have not heard about the Plaza-Midwood Krawl, which took place Saturday evening. The gallery crawls in NoDa take place every first and third Friday of the month, but the Plaza-Midwood Krawls only happen once a quarter.
A hub of activity was located around the intersection of Central Avenue and Thomas Avenue, with artists and a DJ setting up booths and tables on both sides of Central, and a lively drum circle attracting attention on Thomas. The next Plaza-Midwood Krawl is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, September 12th — check out the photos and then come out to the next Krawl. Slideshow after the page break.

Looking good James. You didn’t walk down far enough to Queens Gallery. We were setup with some other artisans including David French. Krawls are always fun. Heard there was a bit of politiking on the old leader to new leader and getting the word out this round. Might be a good dig to learn more. Anyhow, we’ll be out at the next one. Maybe we’ll find a way to rotate up to one of the busier areas.
Where exactly is the Queens Gallery were you were set up? I’ll try to make it around to more areas next Krawl.
It was on the Plaza across from Bead Lush.
Great shots James… The Pura Vida pic up top is awesome. It looks like I walked right by you without noticing in the Reggae Central shot!
Great shots, James.
Lots of famous people in those photos too, if you look hard.
When is the next Krawl? How can we get involved?
