“The Charlotte Symphony Orchestra has received contributions of $1 million each from former Bank of America Corp. chief Hugh McColl and his wife, Jane, and from the foundation of Charlotte businessman C.D. Spangler.
The $2 million will be used for the symphony’s multiyear “bridge-funding” initiative to offset a deficit projected at $1.77 million for this fiscal year.
In total, the Charlotte Symphony has said it will need to secure $5.6 million in bridge funding to support its operations over the next six years.”
