I-77’s HOV lanes could become HOT (toll lanes)

“The Lake Norman Transportation Commission tonight will consider endorsing the concept of converting Interstate 77’s HOV lanes into ones with tolls.

Such toll lanes would be free to vehicles with at least two occupants. CATS buses and van pools would also use the lanes for free.

Motorists traveling alone could use the lanes if they pay a toll. The price would vary depending on the time of day.”
